Shipping calculated at checkout
MotoGP Authentics is delighted to offer collectors a pair of signed Valentino Rossi Dainese race-used gloves from the 2014 MotoGP season. This was the year when Rossi finished as runner-up in the championship and marked a career turning point. The Movistar Yamaha colours, and comeback energy represents the absolute determination the legend had to prove he was still the greatest.
These premium gloves are made of goatskin leather with titanium and carbon reinforcements on the knuckles and phalanges, as well as Kevlar inserts on the palm and seams for extreme resistance. The protection on the back was derived directly from track testing with Valentino himself, making these truly his. Rossi, as always, has also customised the design, featuring his trademark yellow and blue palette and details that echoed the design of his helmets.
Rossi Reborn
These gloves were first seen used by The Doctor during his 15th season in MotoGP. A season of rebirth, he finished the world championship in 2nd place with 13 podiums and one victory in Misano.
It was also the year in which Rossi began to collaborate more closely with Dainese and AGV to develop new generations of protective gear, including increasingly integrated airbag systems. In 2014, Dainese and Rossi also experimented with a small internal sensor to study the vibrations and movements of the hands during the most violent braking manoeuvres, part of the development work that later led to integrated active safety systems. These gloves have therefore figuratively and literally shaped the future of the sport.
Why Dainese?
Synonymous with many of the biggest names in motorcycle racing, Dainese has long held a stellar reputation for its development of motorsport equipment, from knee sliders and race suits to gloves and boots, as well producing the first biking airbag system. Today, Dainese remains at the forefront of motorcycle clothing technology and is a fashionable brand across the world of extreme sports. As well as being at the forefront of safety, the designs of this equipment is often strikingly beautiful and a major reason why fans of Valentino Rossi are keen to add items produced by Dainese to their collections.
The Legend of Rossi
Rossi’s MotoGP™ journey is not one that is easily forgotten and is one of the most iconic in motorsport history. Bursting onto the scene in the late 1990s, Rossi quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with.
He claimed his first premier class title in 2001 and went on to dominate the early 2000s, winning five consecutive championships between 2001 and 2005. Known for his fierce competitiveness, Rossi switched teams from Honda to Yamaha in 2004 and proved his greatness by winning immediately.
His career spanned over two decades, during which he amassed 115 Grand Prix wins and nine world championships across multiple classes. Even in the face of injury and fierce rivalries, Rossi remained a consistent contender and fan favourite. His enduring legacy lies not only in his titles, but in his passion for the racing – forever cementing his place as Il Dottore, the Doctor of racing.
Purchasing these gloves means owning a piece of the career the nine-time Grand Prix motorcycle racing World Champion. The winning bidder will be adding a unique item to their collection that celebrates the only rider to have competed over 400 Grands Prix and remains the record holder for most premier class victories. Nicknamed "the Doctor", Valentino Rossi has earned his reputation as one of the greatest motorcycle racers of all time. Now, you can be part of that legacy.
