David Alonso’s journey to MotoGP™ has already brought historic firsts, a world title and a place among motorcycle racing’s most exciting young talents. From charging through the field at Silverstone to dominating Moto3™, the Colombian has built a career that now takes him to the premier class with Pro Honda LCR in 2027.
We at Memento Exclusives were thrilled to welcome the Spaniard to our Northampton HQ, where the rider swapped the bike for the cockpit of an F1 car as he tore around the track in one of our advanced motion simulators. He also graciously accepted a gift from Memento Exclusives highlighting some of his best bits from a young, flourishing career.

From junior titles to Moto3 world champion
Born in Madrid in 2006, Alonso races under the Colombian flag. His relationship with Aspar began in the junior ranks in 2017, with an 85GP Spanish Championship title following in 2018. European Talent Cup success in 2020 and the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup crown in 2021 soon marked him out as a rider to watch.
After his first JuniorGP victory at Valencia in 2022, Alonso earned a full-time Moto3 seat with the GASGAS Aspar Team for 2023. His first podium arrived at Jerez, but it was Silverstone that introduced him to a wider audience.
Starting 28th at the British Grand Prix, Alonso worked his way through the pack and took the lead on the final lap. The victory made him Colombia’s first Grand Prix winner. By the end of his rookie season, he had collected four wins and eight podiums to finish third in the championship.
The foundations were in place for something special in 2024. Racing for the CFMOTO Aspar Team, Alonso won the season opener in Qatar and kept building momentum. His sixth victory came at the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring, another step towards a title that was moving steadily within reach.
The decisive moment arrived at the 2024 Japanese Grand Prix. Alonso’s tenth win of the season secured the Moto3 World Championship at Motegi, making him the first Colombian rider to win a Grand Prix world title.

That Motegi milestone lives on in our David Alonso Japanese GP Used Leathers in Acrylic. Limited to 80 pieces worldwide, each display contains a section of the race-used leathers from his title-clinching weekend.
He arrived at the Australian Grand Prix as world champion, with more history still to make. Alonso finished the season with 14 victories, surpassing Valentino Rossi’s previous record of 11 wins in a single lightweight-class campaign. His final points tally was an extraordinary 421.
Collectors can also discover the David Alonso 2024 Race-Used Aspar Moto3 Exhaust. Fitted to his bike during that championship campaign, this left-hand-side exhaust retains visible signs of racing wear, offering a direct connection to his success. Additionally, collectors can own CFMOTO Aspar Team David Alonso 2024 Fairing in Acrylic, which preserves a section of bodywork from the championship-winning bike in an acrylic display featuring his digital signature.
Moto2 milestones and the move to MotoGP
Alonso stayed with Aspar for his move to Moto2™ in 2025. The transition brought a learning curve, with points in just three of the opening six races before a podium at Silverstone showed his progress.
Then came another breakthrough in Hungary. At Balaton Park, Alonso hunted down Diogo Moreira and Manuel Gonzalez in the closing stages, taking the lead on the final lap to become Colombia’s first Moto2 race winner.
Further podiums in Australia, Malaysia and Portugal helped him finish ninth in his debut Moto2 season. The rider who had dominated Moto3 was finding his feet in the intermediate class.

In 2026, Alonso added victory at Assen to his record. A dramatic battle with Gonzalez and Senna Agius went to the final chicane, where Alonso’s move around the outside helped him secure the win by just 0.024 seconds.
Now his next step is confirmed. Alonso will partner Johann Zarco at Pro Honda LCR in the 2027 MotoGP season, joining the grid as the championship introduces its new 850cc machinery.
For a rider whose career has already delivered so many milestones, it is the start of another chapter. The challenge ahead is his biggest yet, but Alonso arrives with a world title, race-winning experience and a habit of making the final lap count.
