On the back of Mir’s season best result at the Indian GP, the MotoGP headed to Japan for the race at the Motegi race circuit. The Japanese GP has been a staple on the calendar since 1987, only missing the 2020 & 2021 season due to Covid-19.
The Japanese GP is held at a very tight and twisty circuit with lots of long fast corners. The 2023 GP was even harder due to the rain that poured down. With the rain varying in strength throughout the race, it got too strong, and the race officials were forced to red flag the race with Mir in 12th place.
