The Prima Primac man has had an incredible start to the season, and at the Portuguese GP he continued his streak of podiums across both races of the weekend. Martin took a solid 3rd place in the sprint race.
In the main race is where Jorge Martin really came alive. Starting on the front row, alongside Vinales & Bastianini, he got an excellent start and took an early lead. The pair that he shared the front row with kept Jorge honest all through the race – staying within a second for the majority. On the penultimate lap Vinales suffered a mechanical fault, and Martin managed to hold off the pressure from Bastianini to take the win and extend his Championship lead.
This was an incredibly hard-earned victory, and you can see how much it meant to him. With his national flag draped over his shoulders – it’s clear the Martinator enjoyed that win.
