The second round of the 2024 season saw Jorge Martin back to his best form.
The Spaniard, Jorge Martin, graduated from Moto2 to the premier class of Motorcycle racing after the 2020 season, making his debut on the Ducati at the 2021 Qatar Grand Prix. After achieving several wins and podium finishes in his opening two seasons, it was clear that Martin was a star of the future.
The 2023 season was close, Martin just missed out on the title, losing out to Italian born Bagnaia in the last round of the season. This season, Martin has come out the gates fired up and ready to make a serious title fight. This win at the Portuguese GP will be massively important as the season progresses, and Martin already has a nearly 20-point lead in the championship. Of course, it is a long season – but it looks good for Jorge Martin now.
This knee slider comes from Martin’s leathers during the Portuguese GP as he took his Prima Primac Ducati to the top spot of the podium. A perfect ride from the 26-year-old as he maintained the lead from lap 1 right to the finish.
